Natural monuments

Natural monuments are usually single specimen of animated and inanimate nature. The most common natural monuments to be found in forests are the oldest and largest trees. In 2012 there were almost 11 000 natural monuments in Poland, including 8500 trees.

There are 20 natural monuments (specimens of animated nature) within the territory of Lipinki Forest District: The monuments are particularly large and old trees.

Natural monuments in Trzebiel Sub-district, in Nowe Czaple Forest Range include the following species: Pedunculate Oak, Maple, Sycamore and European Larch.

Natural monuments in Lipinki Sub-district, in Zielony Las Forest Range include the following species: 4 Pedunculate Oaks, 2 Thujas, 1 Canadian Hemlock and 1 Common Beech.

Natural monuments in Lipinki Sub-district, in Olbrachtów Forest District include 2 Pedunculate Oaks.

Natural monuments in Żary Sub-district, in Marszów Forest Range include the following species: 2 Pedunculate Oaks, 2 London Planes, 1 Small-leaved Linden.

Natural monuments in Żary Sub-district, in Żagań Forest Range include1 Pedunculate Oak.

There are also some interesting natural monuments outside the forests but within the limits of Lipinki Forest District: in the town of Żary – 3 Swamp Cypresses and 1 Ginkgo, in the town of Łęknica "Lubuski Bartek" Oak and near the village of Kamienica – an erratic boulder called "Diabelski Kamień" (Devil's Stone).
